We are going to Iran today. Last days we spent in the East of Turkey, Kurdish land. This part of the country is said to be rather rough. Despite being warned by people from other parts of Turkey, we had only good experiences. We have met many good people (simple yet real) and had a really great time there.

From the coast of the Black Sea we entered the land of pretty high mountains. The weather tend to change dramatically here, so we had to put our gore-tex jackets on quite often.  The landscapes were amazing and even though it was hard it was a pure joy to cycle here!

On the way from Erzurum to Dogubayazit the sky turned dark grey, temperature dropped to 11 degrees and a strong wind started to blow into our faces. On a really steep hill, when we still had quite a lot to climb, a truck stopped and offered us a lift. We are not taking part in a race or something, we had no problems with putting our bikes on a truck and jumping into a warm, dry cabin!

On our way towards the Iranian border, we have met 2 Swiss girls and travelled together for a couple of days.

The last days we spent in Dogubayazit, in the shadow of Mount Ararat.

We say good bye to Turkey! We have spent over one month here, cycled more than 1800 kilometres, had hundreds of çays and met fantastic people! Now we are super excited to go to Iran! It will be a totally new experience for us. Our website might not work due to internet problems in Iran, but we will try to put some photos on somehow. Stay tuned!

Güle güle!
