We arrived in Luang Prabang by boat and wanted to spend there a couple of days, waiting for our Vietnamese visa and enjoying the atmosphere of this city. Even though it is the most popular tourist destination in Laos we could find some quite places, admire the decorative architecture of various temples and meet a lot of monks.
Besides visiting some temples and admiring Buddhist treasures, we could relax in the small streets of Luang Prabang by just wandering around…
One big attraction of the city is the night market, which starts every afternoon and offers apart from different snacks and drinks also all kinds of souvenirs…
Our favourites were the fresh fruit shakes as well as the famous buffet dishes – for 1 Euro we could fill up our plates with as much food as we could pile up!
Luang Prabang was a great place to stay, offering some nice sightseeing possibilities and a relaxed atmosphere best enjoyed with a couple of bottles of BeerLao.
